Hey all! Well I am contemplating the purchase of another cherokee. This one is a zj and for the wife. I have a 99 xj and I love it,she likes it too. Her lease is up in dec so were gonna need something else,I thought why not another jeep. I am looking at a 98 zj,4.0,np242,116117 miles,fully loaded and is in almost perfect condition. My only concern is a light lifter tick. He asked 3500 but has agreed to 3200.Any info,insight on the common problems of the 98 zj's would be great!!

JMO but if it's making engine noise it isn't worth that kind of cash. And I love my ZJ.

The tick isnt bad at all.You can barley hear it at idle and not at all as rpms rise.No loss of power still very peppy.

 

Yeah, but for that much you shouldn't hear anything out of the ordinary at all. Maybe for a grand less it wouldn't matter, but I still like my V8. JMO
