Adding OEM Backup Camera to non pre-wired Grand Cherokee WK2
I purchased the Backup Rear Camera Kit from Infotainment for my 2015 JGC Laredo only to find I'm not pre-wired from the factory for the camera. I could return it but I'd rather find a way to make it work.
I seen this thread "Another ParkView BackUp Camera Retrofit Install" on the subject, but I'm not savvy with DIY installs and he doesn't list exactly what he used for install. I would love to know which part(s) to purchase to get it to connect to my factory 5.0" RA2 screen.
From searching these forums and watching Dustin Koenning's YouTube videos I understand there's lots of wiring to do, but I'm always stuck at exactly what to buy. My goal is to purchase what parts you guys suggest I need and bring all that to the local Jeep dealer for install.
I know there's a Crutchfield Kit, but can I use that wiring they provide to get my OEM backup camera to work? Or is that just complicating things.
There's also this kit (part # 82213884) I could buy from a Mopar parts wholesaler. While it seems to include the panel/camera I already have, it does sound like it comes with a harness and other parts I may need. Unsure though.
Again I already have the rear panel with the backup camera (pictured below) and would love if someone could link to what exactly I should buy to get this to connect to my non pre-wired JGC Laredo.

I just ran into the same problem. I ordered mine from the same website and my jeep is also not prewired. Have you come to any solutions yet?

Yup, actually was able to solve my problem perfectly.
You're missing only 1 piece. You need Mopar part # 82213884AC. It comes as a kit, but good luck finding it anywhere. Only place is a single listing on eBay Australia right now, which you can see here.
You only need one item out of that entire kit, but they won't split up the kit so you'll have to buy the entire thing which includes parts you don't need.
What you're looking for, and the only item you need to make it work is the item circled below. That cable will connect from the tailgate you purchased from Infotainment all the way to the head unit. If you're handy and have time you can do it yourself as the kit comes with step by step instructions with pictures, but I opted to take it to my local dealership rather than spend hours pulling panels out of my Jeep.
After you have it installed, you can use the OBD flash that came with the Infotainment kit to activate the newly connected camera.
Side note: If you have trouble with having the item shipped from that eBay listing in Australia, I used Shippn to redirect the package to me.

Hope that helps.
outstanding. You have no clue how much you have helped me. I’m currently just trying to set up an account on shippn so hopefully I will be able to figure out the rest on my own.
