AC Vents not opening and closing right

AC Vents not opening and closing right
First of all Im a newbe. I want to thank everyone to alow me on this forum.
I have a problem with my 96. gr cher. When I switch the to ac.or heat the vent switch for the defroster, floor. or body the vent doors dont always open or close like they should. Example if dial is set to body cooling the air is going to the feet. Can someone tell me how these work and what cound be wrong.
