99 wj inline 4.0 rear end noise

99 wj inline 4.0 rear end noise
From a dead stop when I let off the break an give it gas I notice a quiet thump sounds like slop in the rear diff like a gap in the gears or something but I know that's not it. It's a quadratrack 4 all time I also noticed if I let off the break an let it start to move forward the give it gas it dosent do it. Any help will be appreciated.
