99 Grand Cherokee - Misfire / Hesitation
Hi!
I'm really depressed as I've been having a misfire issue since I purchased my friend's 99 cherokee last year. Initially check engine came up on cylinders 1 & 3 (misfire, 0301, 0303), I swapped the coils with cyclinder 2 & 4, misfire came up on 2 & 4 afterwards, so I changed those coils. A week later the same issue came up, truck's shaking @ about 40 to 80 km/h, so i decided to change more coils, another week later same issue, no check engine codes came up this time, so I changed all spark plugs, at this point my truck was running amazing for about another 10 days, afterwards same shaking started. I have not had a chance to plug it in for error codes but am running out of ideas.
Any suggestions?

check any vacume lines. my 2000 did it and i took it to my friends shop so they could hook up the diagnostic and while they were checking it i could hear this hissing sound. it was a very small plastic hose. cant recall exactly the name but it was obvious where to connect it. there is also a sensor in the distributor housing that kept a 96 i had from starting after replacing everything i was advised to replace it wound up being that.i almost didnt buy one when i was gettinga new cap and rotor but i did, and when i got home to find out they gave me the wrong cap and rotor but the sensor was correct so i put the old cap, rotor back in with the new sensor and it fired rite up.i accidently fixed it. thanks to auto-z giving me the wrong parts. hope this helps
