Hi guys i have a 99 grand cherokee. All of my lights work except my brake lights. Ive replaced bulbs the brake switch and checked the fuses but still no lights. Any thoughts on what the issue is?? Ive even tried making the connections better

intensive electrical ahead
if you don't have a multimeter already get one, spend slightly more then $15 dollars, added features are good, you need it to read ohms, which is resistance, volts and amps, first check for voltage at the out light then follow the lack of voltage till you find the out.
Wiring diagrams are useful if you can teach yourself to read them. if its the liftgate id check to see if the wires running from the car to the liftgate are busted, then solder or crimp them, solder is better because it is stronger then heatshrink it, youtube should be able to teach you to solder pretty easily. good luck, and do this on a weekend with some entertaining friends and a few beers.
Electrical is a headache and a lifesaver when you get good
hopefully this will help
