I have a 99 Grand Cherokee Laredo 2wd and auto trans and the problem I'm having with it is it wont downshift when you come to a stop, it stays in high gear. I can manually pull it down to first before it stops rolling and it will pull out in 1st gear. I was told it was probably the governor soleniod and pressure sensor, but I wanted to verify if anyone has had this problem and how they fixed it....thanks for any help you can give....

Don't know a lot about transmissions but here is a link that may help. Depends on transmission installed. On a truck site, similar problem, they do mention the govenor solenoid and transducer replacement but it was specific to transmission type.
