Default 98 Jeep Grand Turning troubel

My 98 Jeep Grand is a Quad trac and when you turn the steering wheel it binds up and almost will stop. You make it go and the wheels hop or churp. What could be the problem???

Sounds like problems with your t-case.

i had a local jeep mechanic tell me the same thing. He said either the rear end or t-case and to take the front drive shaft out and if that stopped it then it was the t-case but if it still had the problem the rear was going bad. Thanks, Priced one with 84,000 miles for $300. Wished i had a garage i would do it myself. I normaly do my on work unless i need a garage.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll get it fixed when the money is there. Took the front drive shaft out for now. I have had several jeep cherokee's and i enjoyed every one but this one is my favorite because of teh color. It runs great to have 189,000 mile son it. I also have a 1988 Dodge truck and a 1974 Dodge charger.

Oh okay. I'm visiting in Mich. now so it's too far or I'd offer to help you. Sorry.
That's not a bad price for a shop though.
