I have a 97 ZJ with the 4.0 in it... Good jeep... Love it! But every now and then it don't want to start and when it does it wants to stall out if I don't keep my foot on the gas... But everyother time it starts first try.... What could be my problem? I just changed the wires cap and rotor button

 

It could be that your fuel pump is not giving enough pressure or your air filter clog.

 

hey you know I didn't even think about checking the air box... I'm gonna go check that now... Lol

 

My 98 zj did that to then it got to where it wouldn't start at all. Come to find out it was the hot wire for the starter had came off the terminal at the battery. Maybe check your connections

 

ok update to what's goin on.... It happened this morn BUT when I put my foot on the gas it fired up and I took it off it stalled so I put my foot on the gas where the idle point would be turned the key and it fired up normally... Now I did it a couple times t make sure.... Could that be my Throtle position sensor??
