Ok i just got a 97 Grand Cherokee Orvis Edition. Someone had tried to steal it from previous owner and broke the ignition. I replaced ignition but now when I connect the battery the headlights and tailights flash. High beam light and "security" light flash on the dash. What is going on and how do I make it stop? Also I cannot find the plug for the OBDll. It isn't where the book says it is. Any help would be amazing. Thanks in advance.

The connector for the OBDII is under the steering column.

Hey thanks... the key thing worked. I'll get to the OBDll tomorrow. I have another question though. In my search for the OBDll I found two six-prong plugs underneath the dash that fit together but were not plugged in. Should they be? I have no clue what they're for. Oh and if you could tell me which tranny is in it that would be a big help too.

As for the trans: the 42RE and 42RH are used on the 4.0L 6 cyl. models, and the 44RE, 46RH, and 46RE are used on the 5.2/5.9L V8s.
