97 Grand Cherokee Oil Leaking

97 Grand Cherokee Oil Leaking

Hey folks,
I am wondering if this is normal?

Had the oil changed in transfer case, and now it is leaking from this joint.

Could this be POSSIBLE if they over filled it for this to happen??

Could be a seal gone bad..

went today to have this checked again at the shop that did the work. The mechanic pulled the plug where you check the level and the oil came pouring out! I guess he did over fill it!

You really cannot over fill it because all you do is fill it to the fill plug. It looks from the pics that it was the seal but if it stoped I do not know what it was but you cannot over fill that t-case.

Well folks... FIXED THE LEAK!!!

It seems as if when the service was done, there is a VERY SMALL rubber plug on the side of the TC and that is where the oil was spewing from.

They took this out, put some silicone around it, put it back in a viola... seems to have worked and to be fixed!
