ok, first, hello to all new and old members. ok, im a newbie myself to this site but not a total newbie to jeeps, so ill start by saying i have a 95 jeep grand cherokee, 5.2 standard no mods, 236.000 mls. now to my problem, my jeep was running fine but had a little miss in acceleration, so i decided to do a little preventative maintenance which involved replacing valve cover gaskets one week, then intake manifold and plenum gaskets. but after that i started hearing a knocking, or a tapping noise and my oil pressure gauge keeps dropping to zero after driving for around 5 mins or so and the tapping gets louder. i found that my egr valve was broke and replaced it, my oil pressure switch cracked also but replaced it, actually twice to be sure. but still have the knocking and oil pressure problem. ive actually took the time to redo the intake manifold gaskets to be sure i didnt leave anything in the motor and to retrace my steps and found nothing wrong, so im totally lost on what ive done wrong, other then not leaving things well enough alone, lol, palease help me out.

Screw a manual gauge in where the oil pressure sender screws in and check the actual reading. Rule of thumb is 10psi for every 1000rpm.
