Default 94 ZJ Crank Pulley

I am at a loss. Just like many people on here my crank pulley separated on me. I am in the process of fixing it but the crank turns while removing the bolt. I have tried using the belt in all sorts of configurations to stop the thing from turning and I am not sure what else to do. Any help? Suggestions?

Use an impact wrench (air gun).

I had the same issue when I was changing the timeing belt on my Kia. The crank would move trying to take that bolt off. I rented a impact (electric) and it did the trick. Now I gotta get my own, those things are freakin awesome.

Another option might be to remove inspection cover and wedge a screwdriver or flexplate holder onto the teeth and have someone whack the balancer bolt.....but an impact is the much better choice.

I got the pulley taken care of thanks everyone.

New issue arises.. I unhooked the battery while going the pulley, after hooking it back up the security light flashes on the dash and the lights are freaking out and it will start but not stay running. Can I disable the security system? Would that effect any thing if I did that? Thanks in advance

Unlock the passenger door with the key, that should reset the factory alarm.

Pass door or rear hatch, lock and unlock the cylinder three times to turn off alarm. All doors, hatch and hood need to be fully closed.

Or use your key fob if you have one.
