I was going to work, and it just cut off going down the road. Then all of a sudden it started back. Ran good the rest of the way to work, ran good going home. I stopped to get gas, cut it off. Started it back up it ran for a few seconds and started stalling. The engine cut off, and all it would do after that was spin the motor.

dude I'm in the same boat. Been working on guy's truck for a week, on and off. So far I know what's not wrong. Now I gotta find what is. If I put a PCM in and it works i'll let you know.

good luck, keep us posted. I'm gonna start picking through the wiring harness today if I have time. Hopefully I'll find it quick.

Put new distrib. and rotor on. NO CHANGE!!!! Can you by-pass the factory security system. I think that is my problem, but not sure.

Yes you can. Don't know if that will help, didn't help me. There is a Violet and yellow, listed as number 4 in this diagram wire in the driver side door, or you can find it at the security module behind the glove box. Ground that wire and security will be disabled. I did it mostly because I have to keep swapping battery and every time you do that, the alarm goes off.
After doing that i checked and the rest of the security system still works. Circuits 1 and 2 still send voltage out to the PCM to tell it to run.

ok here's what happened on the one I'm working on. The ground wire at the coil plug was chaffed, making intermittent contact. I was able to prove this, got a new connector from the junk yard and good to go. Try checking yours.
