I have a 93 Grand Cherokee that is driving me crazy. I'm hoping for some help on here. I took a trip to SC from MD she drove great there and back. When I got home I put on 20" rims and left them on for about 3 weeks... no problems. I woke up one morning and drove to the gas station and realized i had a flat, went back home took off the rims and put the stock wheels back on. When I went to drive it I got about a mile and then out of nowhere I had no gears. I turned it off then started it again and it would move about 30 feet then ... no gears. Once I got it home I changed the fluids and the filter and that seemed to help for about a week. Now when I try to drive it once the trans gets to operating temps the gears go out again and I seem to have an oil leak I can't locate. Anyone have any idea what may be the problem? This has me stumped.

 

I would say your transmission is most likely junk, time for a rebuild.

 

Yep. Big rims are hell on drivetrains.
