I am about to purchase a 93 grand cherokee owner tells me that it leaks power steering fluid is there a cheap fix to this? how much for a new power steering pump? and also how serious is that going to affect driving other than it obviously being tough in the beginning

If it's just the hose leaking then it's a fairly easy and cheap replacement. ~$15. I had this problem with my xterra and it didn't affect the steering much at all. If the whole pump needs replacing it's still fairly easy and cheap to replace. I can't say how much the pump was as this was a while ago, however I don't believe it was bad considering my dad agreed to pay for it!
