Just wandering if anyone has replaced the timing chain set on their high milage 4.0? I have numerous oil leaks am in the process of fixing, rear seal, oil pan, front cover, valve cover, oil filter adapter. While the pan is off I am replacing the oil pump/pickup with a high volume unit. Since I will be replacing the timing cover gasket wonder if I should replace the timing chain/sprocket set while I am at it? Typical symptoms of a stretched timing chain from what I have read are high fuel consumption less power due to retarded valve timing.
