93 Cherokee XJ Computer swap? Security?

93 Cherokee XJ Computer swap? Security?
Having a non start issue beginning with no spark, no fuel, delivery. Everything else works but that. Think I've narrowed it down to the computer, mine is a Calif. 4.0L with security. Last 3 digits are 285 on the computer. Have one from a 94 Calif. emiss. 4.0L with no security. Anyone know if they are interchangable just that the security won't work? Did plug it in and nothing different but did get a check engine lite now showing on the startup. Still, no fuel no spark no start. Any help is greatly appreciated. David in Calif. 714 751 2464

All ZJs have an integrated security system. The only way it wouldn't is *IIRC* to remove the PCM. Course, then you'll have a 3000 lb paperweight.
Grab your Ign Key, and stick it in your Passenger door and lock and unlock a few times. See if that works. Not saying that it's Definately your security system, but it Could be.
