Default 93 cherokee ??s

Hey guys and gals,

im new here and have a quick question that I could really use as direct an answer to as possible.

I have a 93 Grand Cherokee with the 318 V8 i picked up recently for 300, and it has a crap trans/t case/ tq converter. Basically she moves under her own power until she warms up and then doesnt really want to move to far. I have found another 90 grand cherokee with a I6 in it that doesnt have a title to it and need to know if the I6 trans will bolt up to the 318 5.2L or would I have to swap the I6 for the V8. And if I were to swap it, how difficult would it be with the onboard computers??? My other ride is a 99 Dakota R/T with a 360 and I need to get my Jeep running again so my girl doesnt destroy my truck. LOL Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know the 90 im lookin at has a I6 with all time AWD. The 93 Grand limited I have is a grand cherokee for sure. The other im not 100% on.. But I need to find some parts hopefully locally to fix this 93 I have so my girl doesnt wreck my dakota. The 5.9L is a bit much for her as she is a sub compact baby FWD car driver, and the RWD and hp of my dakota scares her. The cherokee is more "rigid" for her so I need to fix this thing.

The 6 cyl. trans won't bolt up to the V8. Different bolt patterns.
The 6 cyl. and V8 use different Powertrain Control Modules.

Damn, I was kinda excited to hopefully be able to pick up this I6 for 300 cause it has no title and get my 93 fixed. I have found local shops willing to rebuild the trans but its like 1500 to do it. And with the problems I have found so far, IDK if I want to spend that kind of money on it.

So far it only moves when cold. When she gets hot it will pull up to 2grand in the RPM range before the trans really engages. Obviously that is a huge problem for a daily driver. Anyone have any problems like this before? and if so, what did it end up being for you in the end? I am leaning to either the pump inside the trans, or the Tq converter.
