42RE issues
After driving my jeep into a deep muddle puddle (see my previous post with bonus pic) my trans has been acting up.
I got 2 codes P0740 and P0783, 3-4 shift malfuntion and TCC solenoid I believe.
I finally had some time and got underneath the ZJ again and pulled off the connector for solenoids/internal trans wiring. There were definite signs of wetness. I tried my best to clean both ends out with a q-tip but didn't seem to get much moisture on it. Note that I was unable to see the transmission side of the connector.
I plugged it back up and same results.
I get a funny 1-2 shift sometimes and I don't think its getting into 4th (2200rpm 55mph). CEL is still on, I don't have my scanner here to clear it.
Any suggestions for a technique or product to spray on the connectors to clean 'em out? (no signs of corrosion on the harness side)
TIA

Not yet on the fluid/filter. Time is not on my side. I work 6 days a week 10-12 hours a day
I like the idea of new solenoids, governor, 3-4 accumulator spring and new harness with external connector (free of water/dirt/corrosion).
I found this today and will be saving my pennies to grab this kit, seems like a good deal. $200 but appears to be quality pieces, and comes with some extras that make it worth it.
The video is pretty good and takes a lot of guess work out of doing the job.
