4.7 High Idle at startup
My 1999 WJ 4.7 on startup will jump up to 1800-2000 rpm for a couple of seconds then settle down to 900-1000. It does it on every startup cold or hot. Is that normal?

That’s how my 2000 4.7 limited is on cold start ups. Some refer it to sounding like a freight train |
Ya, on mine it does it cold or warm. When cold it kinda bothers me because it goes up to close to 2000 rpm which is not good for a cold engine. I guess it just normal for these engines.
