318 not running correctly
I have a 96 grand cherokee limited with a 5.2/318 v8. It's ran fine until today. Sometimes when you start it, it'll die shortly after. Other times it'll only start when you have your foot on the gas a little. Sometimes when your coasting to a stop it'll die. But it runs fine down the highway and sometimes it idles flawlessly. Any ideas?
Thanks, Anthony

The battery seems to be fine. However, this all started today after I ran it dead. Had the doors open while putting on a lift.. Apparently the lights aren't on a timer when the doors are open.. But I drove it on a short trip about 20 minutes ago and it acted fine. Gonna drive it to work tomorrow and see how it does...

That makes sense, when the batt goes dead the Idle air control resets. Take the idle air control out, I believe it is to torx, clean the "pintle" Gently, and the hole in the TB where the pintle rest. Re-install, Start vehical put in drive, and sit there for about 5 min with the brake on. IT should reset and be good to go. If you dont know what the IAC looks like search it, there are tons of pics and write ups on here.

I've found similar issues when the battery drains, a couple of times I've been working on it leaving the radio on and doors open. Upon starting it the idle is kind of rough and it dies out once or twice, once I get it going and give it some gas it seems to work just fine.
