Default 2013 Grand Cherokee Key Fob

I have always wondered if my '13 Grand Cherokee's key fob plugs into something... the end where the panic button is certainly looks like it plugs into something else, but I can't find anything online confirming that. Am I missing something really obvious?

If your keyless battery ever dies, the Start/Stop button pries out and you stick your key into the slot behind it. There are certain Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/RAM vehicles where they use this keyfob, but NOT a keyless ignition.

Yes, the Push button start unit easily pulls out, showing a "key hole" to plug the fob into. You can then use the fob to turn to ACC position, then one more click to start. true confession: when I first got this car, it had the push to start button, and I once got out with the key in pocket, and went into Home depot and when I returned I discovered to my horror I had left the car running! Yes, I'm old and losing my mind. Pretty scary actually. I like that I have to turn off the engine and pull the key. (but this doesnt help when I walk into the other room and cant remember why I did that...

Yeah some of the pre-facelift (2011-13) WK2's I've seen for sale online (as well as some 2011-13 Dodge Durangos) with Keyless Go are missing the push-button. I once rented a 2013 Dodge Challenger SXT that should've had the push-button start, but apparently the rental company took the button out (I guess so it wouldn't get misplaced), and you had to insert the keyfob to start it up... it still had the pushbutton on the door which worked intermittently (I wonder if it had something to do with the push-button being removed), so it had Keyless Go.
