2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Good afternoon
My daughter has a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo...V8 automatic 2wd with 90k miles.
While having her tires rotated at NTB, the tech pointed out that her rack and pinion gearbox was leaking and they quoted her $1700.00 to repair.
does this sound about normal?
appreciate any feedback

I'm not sure of a reasonable estimate, but I'd DEFINITELY advise her to take it to an actual Jeep dealership to look at the problem. In my experience, a lot of those "shops" (NTB/Merchant's Tire included) try to make extra money telling you something needs replaced in your vehicle when it really doesn't, but I'd go to Jeep to make sure.
