looking at a 2000 grand cherokee limited. has only 79k test drive revealed
a clicking sound from under the console and or behind ashtray. it is a
fairly constant noise. owner says work was done on the dual climate air
i assume one of the doors was repaired. no problems with heat or air
he says it had this noise when he bought it any ideas??
if this is not a big issue is 6300 a fair price? lift arms on hood and rear
window weak and fron dash speakers make some noise but that is the
only issues.

 

Well FWIW I paid $3200+ for a 97 Grand with only 84,000 miles and other then the front tires pretty much in about as good of shape a 13 year old vehicle could expected to be in. Window sticker in the glove box listed MSRP at over $36,000 brand new! A year ago before the "cash for clunkers" program older used Cherokee's were a dime a dozen so to speak. The person who traded in my Jeep probably got a $2500 trade in value and was probably kicking themselves when the clunker program came out less then a year later, it would have qualified for the max of $4500.

What is it's KBB resale? How long has it been for sale?

Check local listings, craigslist etc. and see what comparable Cherokee's are going for in your area. I'm not saying I got a killer deal but I think I got a very fair deal on a very clean vehicle.

You want to know a real kicker? You could buy two or three used Cherokee's in decent shape for what people are paying for these off road UTV's. Seen the prices of these things lately?? GOOD GRIEF!
