HELP!!!
Ok so I have a 1998 Grand Cherokee with the 5.9L (360ci) and it appears my sending unit located in a ring between two pieces of the lower radiator hose is not longer functioning.. In my research from the parts guy at Jeep they no longer carry the part as it was only used in 1998. I think this may be because the that was the last year of that body but the first year of that engine. He suggested I reach out to NAPA who has a part TS3002 or TS3002SB that looks to only be for that year but the guy couldn't find where that part would live and looks like it may be short one connector.
Also I have been getting a Coolant Sensor Error off and on. I am wondering if that is the Sensor located between two hoses that make up the Upper Radiator Hose.
The vehicle has 227k miles on it and has been in the family since it was new. The block is leaking and I am finding myself faced with the question of whether to spend the money to keep the thing running, which I think because of the one year of production may be cool. So would like to know if anyone has a thought on that also.
first , did you check to see if there is a stored CEL code that would point you in the right direction, both sensors are the same part number, but if memory serves me right there is a cooling fan control module mounted on the front header just below the head light assembly that controls the fan, and it was a constant failure if I remember correctly
