Ok, so I just bought a 1998 Grand cherokee limited. Needs a water pump, lower rad. hose, and serp. belt.... Too easy...
Now what I need from the pros on here is some advice.
It is the full time 4wd, 5.2 model. 107k miles.
I just want to know some of the common problems, things to keep an eye on, etc. I am new to the jeep brand. (found one for a decent price in germany, FINALLY!!!)(a little FYI, if you want to sell a piece of crap for a rediculous amount of money, send it here!)
Anyway, I figured I would ask the boys that knew best.

Keep an eye on the condition of your transmission fluid as these are plagued by trans issues from overheating the fluid. Change the trans fluid and filter if in doubt about whether it has been changed before. I'd change it every 30,000 miles at least.
The viscous coupling in the transfer case will cause the front tires to chirp/hop when making sharp turns at slow speeds if it's starting to go bad. I'd drain the fluid and replace it also.
Drain and replace the gear lube in the front and rear axle differentials.
