1996 ZJ Questions.
I have searched for intermittent wiper problems until my eyes bleed and have come to the conclusion that since my 96' has the digital odometer that my wipers are controlled by the BCM. My question is, I have seen that 97-98 BCM's work on a 96' but not vice-versa, Is this correct? Also my doors lock automatically but after I shut off the truck the doors stay locked from the outside. Any input on this? Could that also be contributed to the BCM? Also my overhead console only shows the DTE and no temp or direction. The STEP button does nothing. Does that mean the button is faulty or the overhead display is shot? Thanks in advance.

WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM
An intermittent wiper system is standard equipment.
This system lets the driver select from two
wiper speeds, or an intermittent wipe feature. The
intermittent wipe feature is provided by the Body
Control Module (BCM) and an intermittent wipe
relay.
The intermittent wipe delay times are speed sensitive.
Above ten miles-per-hour the delay is adjustable
from about one-half second to about eighteen seconds.
Below ten miles-per-hour the BCM doubles the
delay time, or provides delays of about one second to
about thirty-six seconds.
INTERMITTENT WIPE RELAY
The intermittent wipe relay is a International Standards Organization (ISO) micro-relay.
The intermittent wipe relay is a electro-mechanical device that switches current to the
wiper motor or wiper motor park switch when the relay is energized or de-energized
by the body control module in response to the appropriate inputs from the wiper (multi-function) switch.
The intermittent wipe relay is located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC), in the engine compartment.
Refer to the PDC label for relay identification and location.

I have checked the Relay in the PDC and swapped to a known to have been working BCM and my wipers are still wonky. They have no intermittent at all and when I shut them off they still swipe about 3-4 more times then stop wherever they damn well please. Could there be something wrong with the wiper motor itself. Oh and If I use the auto headlight function and use the wipers the headlights will shut off and come back on at times.
