can someone point me to a place to look i dont want to throw money at it and hope i hit a bullseye i have never tried the hi lo option on it had one other jeep before and it was a project so never learned how to shift them >.> Please HELP!!!!!

I'm guessing you have the NP249 transfercase, that's the problem. The viscous coupler is shot and binding up during sharp turns. Resist the urge to remove the front drive shaft, you will lose PARK and your Jeep will roll away.

The part you described is the adjusting sleeve to center the steering wheel. The viscous coupler is in the transfercase.
