My 1995 Grand Cherokee LTD with 225k miles runs great and has no engine or transmission issues. However, recently I have had several mysterious electrical problems:
* Console lights with date and time blink on and off and must be re-set with each start up.
* Overhead console with compass reads "OC 4"
* Heater won't come on and AC runs continually.
* Auto door locks don't work.
* Radio won't work
* Inside lights don't come on when door open
* Once the engine started but immediately stopped as if the fuel pump wasn't working.

I recently was unable to start the Jeep (no response from turning key) but after jiggling the battery around, it started.

I read a post a month ago where one of the members suggested disconnecting the positive battery terminal for a few minutes. I did this and now everything works! A miracle indeed and thanks for the advice.

Does anyone know of the root cause of this issue?

bad grounds can cause all kinds of issues

you could need new battery cables as well

Check the AOD fuses, they're the ones with the yellow thing around them.
