He is high, even for a V8 Limited.

Yea but it's a 5 speed and they made them for 2 years and out of 5 million grand Cherokees made, 2000 were 5 speeds. It looks like it's in real good condition and maintance is up to date, oil changed every 3k miles.

I agree with the previous post, it only matters to you what it's worth. I paid $900 for a poor condition '96 2dr XJ but it had the 2.5 4cyl and the 5spd manual that I wanted, so even though I paid to fix a lot of stuff it was what I wanted and the price was fine with me. Final decision is yours, but I think it has a lot of potential including being rare.

I say grab it. If you don't like it you won't have any trouble selling it as there's tons of people looking for a 5-spd ZJ.

Same here, I'd jump on it. Maybe offer $2500.

Like the others have said, if it is worth it to you, then get it, but knowledge is power and knowing that Kelly Blue Book and NADA Book values are roughly HALF of what the asking price is (for a private seller, not a dealer); you should be able to negotiate yourself a decent deal.

I picked up my 93 ZJ Ltd for $900.....

Were either of yours factory 5 speeds? Comparing apples to oranges if not.

If someone really wants a 5 speed and avoid the $2K eventual automatic rebuild the 2800 asking price doesnt look so bad. Espescially if this Jeep is in good condition. If he doesnt pay it, someone will.

Well, went and looked at it today and didn't buy it. I had a bad gut feeling about it. Something just didn't seem/feel right. He was also very firm on the price. Said I was only person interested and it's been for sale for about a month. If he still has it in a few months I may go back and buy it.
