My Jeep has been sitting for the last 4 years and I have decided to put it back into action. I have replaced the fuel rod and spark plugs, starter motor, a new battery and yet I can not get the vehicle to turn over. When I put the key into the ignition all the lights turn on and everything seems to work but there is nothing connecting to the motor to get it on. I had researched connecting the starter motor to power and got the vehicle to start this way but I have no idea why the connection from the ignition won't start. Any ideas?

My 93 zj the switch wasn't turning far enough because the aluminium was worn. I just found the main bat. wire and the one that goes to start and put a push button like the new fancy cars have right beside the key and it works fine. Saved myself about 65 bucks.

Maybe the neutral safety switch. try to move the shifter during the start.
