i don't think a 2005 has a neutral/park switch..depending on your tranny probably has a range sensor/solenoid.....expensive and not easy to do yourself,i doubt thats your problem...besides it would probably crank or start by jiggling the shifter put in neutral etc if that was the problem
I had similar problems with my '01 GCL. Occassionally it wouldn't start, replaced the batt and cleaned terminals, checked starter, occassionally the turn signals would stop working.
Turned out the harness had corroded, batt acid had trickeled down it, not visable until I got it on the ground.
$250.00 later, the problems ceased.

I have an '01 GCL, it was giving me a lot of electrical problems until we replaced the battery cable wiring harness. Acid had dripped down and corroded it, even though there had not been a battery problem (no leaks I could see).
It cleared up the problems but cost about $200.00 (less aggrevation and guessing time).
