Default 02 Jeep Makes Noise

Hi All, Greetings from UK.

I have a problem with my Jeep in that when I start it it makes a loud ticking noise and when I press the gas the level goes up. Somebody it said it might be the CAM?, any ideas

It could be a worn lobe on the cam (prob not), sticky lifter, low oil pressure or even an exhaust leak.

First check the oil level and oil pressure before doing any major driving.

does sound go away shortly after you start it? The 4.0 is known for cracked exhaust manifold, will cause the same sound till it warms up a little.
