Good Start Devil. Semper Fidelis. I served in the Corps from 2000-2008. Soon I will start the inside of my XJ. Kinda nervous about pulling the carpet. Looking forward to the rest of your build.

RAH!!! Thanks brother. Always good to meet a fellow Devil Dog. Yeah I didn't think I had much of a rust problem until I pulled the carpet. Definitely not what you want to find... but then again I'm glad I caught sooner than later. Also, it gave me an excuse to weld and make something, and thats always fun!! Ill keep you all posted for sure!! Semper Fi!!

Well, after 5 long months of blood, sweat, tears, and much anticipation!!!.. the moment of truth to start up my new and improved XJ came upon me the night before last. I finished torquing down a few last bolts here and there. Bought a brand new Yellow Top to throw in there for the start up. Put the key in the ignition and the bells and whistle go off telling me we have power so I'm startin to get a hard on at this point... I turn the key...and NOTHING HAPPENS!!!! NOT EVEN A CLICK!!! So you can imagine the feeling of complete and utter disgust that overwhelmed me at that moment. So I did the usual..try and start is about 5-20 more times...still nothing... I sat there listening for any inkling of life...lol...and i could hear the fuel pump going...so i new something was happening. The starter didn't seem to be doing anything, and it was a new starter. So..at this point I'm pretty pissed and wanna shoot people in the face twice! I go calm down and try and clear my head and think of what to do... I start going through all the possible reasons...starting with the battery and connections...then the starter.... everything checks out... so I reinstall the starter and try try try again....still nothing. I start looking at the nightmare of wires underneath the dash and leading threw the firewall and I'm thinking to myself..no frickin way..LOL. So I came inside, hopped online here and started searching for possible answers. I come by some guy talking about his NSS..Neutral Safety Switch. I remember before I bought the Jeep that it had some NSS issues in the past and it was finicky in the cold weather especially. So I go outside and slap it in neutral and turn the key and she immediately starts trying to fire up. Gave it some gas and BAMCIS!!! She fires up. So, needless to say, I felt like Clark W. Griswold from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. When he tries to turn on the house Christmas lights...lol. Anyways....SHE LIVES AGAIN!!!!
