Okay today's update:
I got the CPS out of the black Jeep and installed in the red one. The check engine light is no longer coming on so at least I did something, however the Jeep is still stalling when I try to go uphill.

Okay. today I correctly connected the ignition coil. (when the PO put new one in he didn't unbolt the old one, he just unplugged the old one, left it how it was mounted and plugged in the new one). I didn't take the old one out cuz I am pretty sure that was not the cause of the stalling, I just took new one out and plugged old one back in.
I was gonna try to replace the MAP sensor with one from my other Jeep ,but I don't see where the screws are so I just unplugged it and wiggled the plug and plugged back in.
When I took her for her test drive after letting her warm up first she did pretty good. Normally on the circuit I drive for test drive she has been stalling out in 2 spots. This time she didn't stall in the first place she normally does and I almost made it up the second hill. I think I am gonna try putting the cleaner air filter from the green one in to this one and take her for another spin and see if she still stalls, if she doesn't or I have about same results I think I may be ready to take her to get emissions tests done.
I was so excited to see her getting a little better. Even though it's still not totally fixed it's nice to see I am making improvements. I am smiling so big right now.

I also found a bunch of vacuum leaks and got most of them fixed It's doing much better.
Current status: still have check engine light for Crankshaft Position sensor or Camshaft Position Sensor Engine is still doesn't not have a totally even idle, but it doesn't stall out instantly like it was before, it sputters some first giving me time to back off gas which prevents (in most cases) it from stalling.

you said you have a check engine light on? are you assuming its the crank or cam sensor or have to scanned it?
i've owned 12 jeeps, 5 cherokees. i've had my share of rigs that stalled for one reason or another. 1 stalled due to 02 sensor. 1 because of crank sensor ( pretty common ) and i had another that would stall when it'd get up to operating temp, turned out to be magnetic pickup in the distributor.
a clean air filters good but unless that suckers plugged right up it wont cause it to stall.
hows your fuel filter? spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires? is your throttle body all gummed up and dirty inside including the IAC valve?
and i'd double check those vac lines, they can be a bugger.
goodluck

I also kinda feel like I need to get appropriate gauge to check fuel pressure cuz this jeep doesn't have the same pick up as my other one as far as acceleration is concerned so I may be looking at fuel pump or something too.
I do have new plugs for it, I just haven't put them in yet, I am trying to get this code cleared and staying gone cuz I have to take vehicle for emissions test so I can get tags for it, my tags die end of this month.
Thanks for input. Much appreciated.

I put new cable ends on her today so I can disconnect and reconnect the battery more easily when tinkering on her.

Okay so the Jeep Guy came over and looked at this Jeep with me today and I found some other things.
Apparently when I switched the battery cable ends I didn't tighten the positive side down super well so he fixed that for me. It seems like the cables are corroded a little bit. Also my ground cable was loose where it attaches to the fender and we got that fixed too.
When we took it for a test drive we noticed it was dumping coolant and when we popped the hood we saw it was coming from the overflow outlet on the reservoir. So although I know it's not causing my stalling, but I will need a new thermostat before anything else.
He also wants to check my timing so he may try to bring his timing light over soon. He also said it wouldn't hurt to change my MAP sensor too
Oh and I need to replace my PCV valves too cuz they were rigged incorrectly before I bought it. The front one is not for that engine and both are broken.
We tried to take one of the PCV valves from my black Jeep but it was breaking when we tried to get it out.

Okay so today I finally changed my thermostat in this jeep. The old one was stuck closed so I put in one of those fail safe kind and my Jeep is much happier now. It's still idling a little rough so I still have more to do, but now I feel a little bit better about driving around if I need to.
