Hi all! I posted my introduction so I figured I'd do a build thread as well.

I changed my mind. I'll just repost everything on here.

I have a 91 Cherokee Laredo. 3.5 in lift, and other small upgrades
Jet performance chip
TB Spacer
K and N intake
Cherrybomb exhaust
injectors

some things i want to do:
tires/rims (i like the fuel economy too much to already have bigger tires)
bumper (front and rear)
roof rack
lots of lights
tow hooks
maybe another 1-1.5 in lift

Let me know what you guys think and any suggestions- especially to the trim. I'm thinking of painting it black and modifying the fenders and such but I really need to research the best course of action before I do anything drastic.

attached are some photos of me just messin around after a day of mudding. I was testing the flex of the new suspension.

has anyone altered the trim of the laredo model? how do you suppose i go about getting rid of the extra plastic without making it look like crap? I think i'll keep the fenders, but what do you guys think I should do? I'd really like a lot of input on how to alter the appearance of it.

the door moldings?
peel them off carefully and then use wax and grease remover to take off the residue

i was thinking about winches that might be good for my rig once i get a bumper, but then i thought that it would be almost as easy just to use a good strong 3 hook come-a-long. Does anyone else do that? Its so much cheaper and would probably give you more options. Opinions?

I did a lot of work today on the body of the tank. I took off those stupid side moldings and that uncovered a whole mess of rust. So i went to auto zone and got some filler, steel wire mesh, and quick steel to fill in the rust holes. And i got some flat black primer (since next week i will be painting the whole thing flat black. I was on a time limit this weekend so this paint job is a quick and dirty job and it will be severely improved upon next week. But, heres what the tank looks like for now.

That rust will keep growing under the filler.

here's the (not really finished) finished product and how it sits now. Next week I'll be posting the fully painted pictures. I'm pretty excited. I also plan on taking the bumper off and fixing that dent and painting the bumper. Feel free to comment! I really like all the input from you guys!

yep. the unfortunate truth. I just hope i at least slowed it down. I sanded it really good and put the rust olium on it; besides replacing it i guess thats the best i can do.

How are you gonna go about the painting process?

I'm pretty much copying Nickel's idea. Its here.

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/pain-xj-build-113685/

But basically its flat black primer a few layers and then bed liner on top. Pretty easy. I will be doing the actual paint job in a garage and with better equipment. I will post photos when i finish it. It should be next sat or sunday.

I'm on my phone so I can't get to that link but make sure you sand the gloss off of your finish before you paint and bed line or it won't adhere correctly

And are you going to bed line over the new paint?
