After that i figured i would spray it all one color just with the rattle can until my air compressor and tools got dropped off by the moving company. But before i get to far i gotta mention the jeep ran fine all the way up to the hotel we got in north carolina (my wife and i had to stay at a hotel for a week before we could move into and close on our house) the radiator and water pump had had enough so i found myself changing both in the parking lot around 11 pm
All of this happened around may of 2013 Shortly after getting moved in i found a steal of a deal a 97 xj 4dr 4x4 for 400$ and put a 350$ motor in it and ran her for awhile. Before turning it in on a 08 commander for my wife(at least she wanted a jeep) in return i bought a 94 with 6in rough country brand new 35 km2s on mickeys for 500$ Knowing the motor was bad i still drove it home being to stubborn to trailer it. After pulling the head this is what i found Now i have decided just to throw the lift and tires under my 99 and part out the rest Im putting the 231 tcase up to my ax 15 that i picked up from the JY The axles have 4:88 |

Well finally got some new breaks on the front so hopefully no more front end dives due to sticking calipers also made some tube doors out of a brush guard. And got one side of my quarter fold finished. My rivet gun broke durin the first rivet going in so i screwed them in for now since i already put gooped up the entire thing with rtv

Started todo a write up for folding of rear quarters but then it started pouring out but heres a good start
Start by removing your rear bumper for easiest access then drill out the spot welds for the inner and outer fender skins Then remove the bumper cover bracket thats riveted on by drilling out the rivets. And measure 4.5in from the furthest to the back of the xj body line down and make a mark. And 5 1/4 in from the body line right behind the tire down Next using a straight edge connect the two marks you made making sure you have a solid line from edge to edge of the pannel Then using a cut off cut a down the line which will separate the outter pannel next using a saws all cut across the same line separating the inner pannel as well |
1 Attachment(s)
Next make a vertical line starting parallel with the lowest body line on the jeep(where you started your measurement for the 4.5in and 5.25in marks you made) except this line will be to the left of all the holes you drilled right in the curved corner. This line will go all the way down till you run out of body to make a line on. Then you will cut this. Then cut along the line where the outer quarter panel that folds around the back stops. This cut is also vertical. At this point you should have 2 vertical cuts with hole drilled all over in the middle. Now you will cut across the top too connect the two vertical cuts with a horizontal cut (this should remove the whole rear piece)

Well decided rather than peice together a long arm or pay 1200 for the full traction upgrade that i wanted then put full 6in coils in(i have 4 with a 2in spacer) put a full length add a leaf in the back to give it a little more life then order a pitman arm and all that, that im just gonna pull love you lift and buy a complete FT 6in long arm kit with springs and all the works.
|
Ordered my gasket kit and got my motor and 2wd tranny almost pulled before it started down pouring. So soon as i get a nice day and my kit comes in ill finish pullin it and start tearing it down and cleanin it up
|
Ever finish up that cut-fold?

Got my tranny and motor pulled today. Pulled it all by myself with my cherry picker wanting to roll down my driveway. I need friends...haha. Any ways, i pulled my center console to remove the stick which was a win win cus my center console was loose and i need to put my t case shifter in. With all this being said the next time my cherokee starts itll be officially 4x4!! Then i can start saving for my long arm and 1ton steering. While i have the motor pulled im gonna throw in some 2.4 ltr injectors with the 4 hole spray pattern. Im also gonna put a durango steering gear in it and remove that useless ABS once and for all

Does anyone know if i have to take my clutch off to put it on my engine stand? Never had a clutch on my other cherokees. Also should i replace my clutch while im at it? Im for sure replacing my throw out bearing. My clutch has never given me any issues but then again i dont wanna have to pull it again 2k down the road. Anyways been scrubbing down the block. It feels like jeep forgot the gaskets in this one with as much sludge on this bad boy. Made a little progress need to get more wire brushes
