Illegal Activity
5. Do not talk about illegal activity on this forum. This includes illegal drugs, parties, wheeling, internet use, etc. Violators of this rule will be dealt with on a case by case basis. This rule includes the discussion of removing catalytic convertors, this is illegal and not allowed to be discussed on this site.

Thats weird, I have never heard that removing the Cat is illegal? I live in Alabama and do not have a cat, and its not illegal here.

But rules are rules.

I'll admit that I have thought about it so I don't have to deal with the pawprints on my ride. But my neighbors are good friends of mine so I'll just put up with it.

ETA: How the heck did this end up in "BUILDS" anyway? seriously people, think.

Agreed, in Colorado Springs [where I actually live] you don't have to have a cat or muffler as long as it doesn't break a certain decibel level.

catalytic converters are required under federal law, regardless of any state or city laws/ordinances.

About as correct as having a Fed law against marijuana. States are gonna do there own thing, and there is little to zero for enforcement from the federal level.

I would like to see how the federal regulation reads regarding this, because I can think of a few federal laws that are written very open-ended as to leave the "enforcement" of the law to the states and local government.

Federal Law for All US States.....Period! How it's enforced is not the issue here. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

I get what ur saying man, an thanks. I'm going to cut open the cat and rivet it together around the straight pipe. So it will legally b present, and since its a 89 in Oregon it doesn't have to go through emotions so its federally and state legal. LOOPHOLE!!

Not really how the federal law works... I'm all for state law preceding federal law, the feds need to learn their place. However on this forum this topic is against the rules.
