Slowest XJ Build Ever
Whats up guys? Still fairly new to this forum, let alone the XJ world. Since picking up my 98' xj a few weeks ago Iv been trying to go through it making sure its in tip top condition. So far what Iv done...
-Oil change w/ filter
-AX15 trans fluid change
-Chrysler 8.25 fluid change
-np231 t-case fluid change
-new u-joints in the rear drive shaft
-new rear shocks
-k/n drop in filter
-spark plugs
-spark plug wires
-dist. cap and rotor
Waiting on a radio adapter to install an aftermarket radio, also awaiting new crown heavy duty leaf springs, u-bolts, leaf shackles, and a set of 235/75/15 bridgestone dueler revo 2's (picked up a set of tear drop cherokee rims of CL). Last but not least, only moments ago I placed an order for an Aussie Locker for the 8.25.
Trying to preventative maintenance to the new jeep, its my DD but I want to ready for whatever. More pics once parts arrive.

Wow that looks very similar to mine that I bought back in May. Very nice! I'm also interested in whatever preventative maintenance needs to be done.

I just replaced the leaf springs, shackles, and u-bolts. Right now Im working on changing the transmission mount. I have the new mount in and bolted up but one of the cross member bolts snapped off in the frame. Trying to decide whether to punch it out with an air chisel then run a new bolt through, or drill it out and tap it to the next size bolt.

Im bored so I feel the need to update my build thread. Iv done a lot since the last post. I have over 1000 miles on the Aussie locker and it works great! I have replaced the battery, the front bumper (came with frame braces to), clutch, added a cb radio, rugged ridge floor mats, removed the door moldings, new "sport" decals from Yellaxj on here, and lifted it 3in using 3in procomp coils, rc add a leaf in the rear, and 2012 jk rubicon shocks.
Before the lift
After the lift
Friends Yota got stuck
XJ saves the day
I just drove 2 hours to go wheelin yesterday, friend failed to click the picture button on the camera so no articulation shots. Once I find something to crawl up Il get more pics

Its been a while. Done a few new things.
New tires: 31/10.5/15's MTR w/ K
Pulled rear bumper and end caps to install a hitch and found this
I primed it up then decided to do the 1/4 cut and fold
Coated them with 3m undercoat
Next I picked up some material to make a cowl intake. Spectre 3in flexable intake tubing from the parts store, a plastic mount, self tapping screws, rtv ultra black, and a dremel =
No installed pics yet but just threw these on with a Curt class 3 hitch.
I welded this up for a friend, going to do mine next
I need to rig some up bump stop extensions then start thinking about a wrap around rear bumper and rock sliders.

Skip ahead a year...
T-case/crossmember skid-
Aussie lockers in D30 and 8.25-
Replaced sagging pack with 1" up-country pack, along with a 1.5" shackle and another 1" from an RC shackle relocation bracket-
Steering box spacer upgrade-
Decided 31" tires on 3.07 gears wasn't bad enough, upgraded to 285/75/16 (33s) treadwright guard dogs-
Shoes fit good-
Brown dogs to go with the guard dogs-
Track bar upgrade, Iron Rock Double Shear-
Then came the Iron Rock OTK Steering-
Next I made a set of rock sliders-
Then slid down an icy hill backwards into a tree-
Snow melted and I wheeled it some more-
Made a meme-
Out came the tranny-
Hope I have good luk with this luk clutch-
Transmission is back in and all is well. Front bumper is removed right now to prep for a repaint, meanwhile I sold the rock rails to fund a new project. 2x6 weld in sliders with HD offroad unibody stiffeners. Then maybe a hybrid cage after that
That's all for now, folks.
