My 1st attemp on a build thread...
Sold my XJ about 6 months ago, couldn't with out it, so bought a WJ...
Piston slap...so gonna pull the motor and rebuild it...my first motor rebuild

So ran into a lil dilemma tonight, got all the freeze plugs and caps put in, and started on main bearings...and forgot about the location of the thrust bearing...now found 2 different places where it says on no.2 cap (jeep wj manual) and no.3 cap ( jeep 4.0 engines: how to rebuild and modify)...well gonna have to do more research...gonna call my buddy Bill he knows for sure...

So got the crankshaft and camshaft in...the thrust bearing sits in cap #3...crank has a grove for it, so it sits only there, I did not take the crankshaft off the block, I took the block with it in the machine shop, so I didn't see how mains were sitted in..
