this is a great thread!! Just read it all. Now I gotta go look at your web site and see what you got there. Thanks for sharing! Did it take you long to master the tube bending? I want to build me a cage. I am a reasonably good welder and fitter, but no experience bending tube. Guess there is only one way to learn!! Thanks again

Pivoting as you later mentioned, tight obsticals......it's a poor mans line locker, you can do the electrically without a ton of cost, as a fabricator, I chose old school.......it was free!

I really dont like bending tube......it's been never 'mastered'.......but it's my own fault due to lack of time to read & follow others.........it's like eating oatmeal as a kid.......just do it to make mom happy & move on.......

Simple answer........no.
I think the reinforcing is the trick, dont allow the body to flex/move.....

Alrighty then......still owe you one or two pictures up front, but what do we do about junior? I know I'm as concerned as you, cant just strap him accross the hood like an old buck....

Gotta seat junior......ebay had lots of 'Jr' racing seats but the shipping was stupid money.......blew the deal.....

And Jr racing seats........I mean as a dad, lets just think a minute, I mean they grow up soo fast..........

Oh ya.....................fun times!

So, unhappy with plan 'A'.......I went to plan 'C'........a folding boat seat with a 250lb limit for $72.00 shipped of ebay!

A five pcs harness will be adapted to the seat along with arm rests, pics to follow on this one.......

Lol.......build specs? Serious?......I'll tell you how this went down.......

Pull up a e brake system.......x it by 2.......this gives you your layout, leave a 1/2" gap betwen.....(no photos avail.)

I had this "square" laid out on the XJ's hump......in soapstone..........my 5 foot zero female nieghbor walked thru my shop door about that time, not knowing nothing I told her to crawl inside and use the plasma to cut the hole outlined..........she pulled the trigger and ran the thing like a pro, no instruction, no saftey glasses..........just a dumb blonde stroke of luck, she had fun doing it.

If Gail can do it, So can you! Dont be a gimp! (I mean that affectionately)
