You could always run that bumper, and then add in a Backbone!

The bumper on the white XJ is built off a BackBone, it's always been an option for home brewers.....Use it as your base.

Hell ya dude! I've never heard of the place but my buddies go to Haspin at least once a month and once i get another trail jeep i'll be joining them. I'll give you a shout when we head over there.

You say you are not a hardcore wheeler, but this is what happened to my Alloy USA d30 shafts

PIc of long side inner

Pic of long side stub shaft

Pic of short side inner

All this damage happend on 33's... granted my doubler might have had soemthing to do with it.. just a heads up.

I also run the RK set up.. I love the flex it gives me, and have had to add limit straps to help situation out

All good info, thanks for sharing.......
The 30 is simply being used to get the project somewhat completed, I currently have $12.00 invested in it. I'll surely be treading lightly with it and it will remain unlocked until a donor becomes available and the time is found to install it....

We're you locked up front? (I'm thinking just maybe....)

Thanks again for sharing, I've actually twisted up some stock shafts like that in the past.....

Yes I was/am locked up front. It had a loc right in it.. the pins did sheer. I dont have a 4-1 kit I have a 231/231 doubler, thats what I think broke it.

Rebuilding it as we speak.. HPd44, ARB 5.13's, Nitro shafts and gears, Reid knuckles, solid drive flanges, with solid arms, rear is a 9" with detriot, and dutchman custom 6 lug axles with discs. All on 36 Tsl's and 32 bolt DIY bead locks. should be stout. This is on my Chop top XJ too not my truggy in my avatar

It doesn't take much. Simple trail riding with 33s. Soft dirt mixed with stumps and rock. Having the wheels turned and powering it through an rough area is enough. My guess is ping pong likes heavy rock. This axle was locked. I'm running a stock case now on 35s with a open Dana 30 stock with 4.56 gears. I'm not scared about that. But it will stay open. Also forgot to ad that the jeep that kept eating Dana 30s with the 4.1 was also a 2.5 with a manual.

Yes, as I said before.....the soil here, in this area dosent have a bone in it, turned hard and using the skinny pedal is sure disaster........if I find myself bound & gagged, I'll just use the winch to get me through for now.....

So, you've heard all the good news. The bad news is that you can never stop this build (or this thread)!

I'm hooked!

This is the pile of rocks that broke my XJ.. Here I am driving my Buddy's 4 wheel steer Samuri.... On same pile of rocks

Here is a pic of when I flopped his rig on a trail called insanity
