your missing a steering stabilizer buddy call Rusty's back up...and that was the most gorgeous picture ever of all them parts layed out...and about the lube lockers if you want to be super lazy and waste the money (my opinion) go ahead a tube of rtv and a couple minutes of sraping/ applying is easier...and i am subscribing

Not thrilled with the idea of white shocks, so will be rattle canning those, just deciding if I want to do something different or just shoot them black or fde.
Going with Lube Lockers because we plan on trying to regear soon, and maybe do some diff cover painting between the lift party and the regearing. Since the club President knows this, he suggested the lockers as I'll likely be pulling them off and putting them back on a few times soon.
So far, 9 other members of MSJ have stepped up and R.S.V.P.'d for my lift party. One guy even changed the date of some mod work he was going to do to his rig so we could get mine back on the road. Those guys are good people.

sounds like a bunch of good cats. don't party to hard or you'll end up lowering that (future) rig instead of lifting it. haha.

Good luck with your lift. Another thing you might want to get is 4 new grade 8 bolts , washers, and nuts for the rear shocks, because most of the time they break. I sprayed mine everyday for 2.5 weeks and they snapped right off. (98 xj) every Jeep is different though. Good luck man! I'll be following

Nice! Looks like your going to have one capable XJ. I think those Soft 8's would look great in a gunmetal silver/hammered gray. Any who, look forward to seeing the progress on this Jeep.

I'm hesitant to paint them b/c I'm still trying to find a way to use my alloys without aluminum bs, or swap them for someone else's alloys. I got 5 of the pro-comp steelies, and 4 stock XJ alloy rims - surely that should net me a set of alloys that would work on mine?

Currently, I'm trying to figure out if it's possible/advisable to remove the t-case, do the SYE, and reinstall the t-case BACK IN IT'S STOCK POSITION before lift day arrives.
I think the SYE only effects the rear shaft, and I was planning on driving my XJ home from the lift in Front Wheel Drive anyway because once the lift and the SYE are done I have to call Rusty's with the shaft measurement, then they will ship the right one to me.
I cold just as easily (?) drive to the lift party without a rear shaft as I could drive home from it.
Now I just need to find someone willing to supervise me in doing it if it can be done before the lift.

well you are thinking right. it does only effect the rear driveline. also you dont have to remove the transfer case in order to do the SYE. is there any reason you want to do it before lift day as opposed to at the same time? there are other alternitives to a rear shaft like using a front from a grand cherokee but ill let you look that one up and see for your self.
