Looked at this one today:
http://frederick.craigslist.org/cto/3921497869.html

I like it a lot more than I thought I would, and it has some minor problems that I can haggle with. The guy is really cool, and he listened as I explained the issues and how they need to be fixed. He also values the lift at $1800 +tires, but I pointed out that I can get the lift for $1k new, and the DOT code shows the tires are from '07 and have a little dry rot.

None of it is terribly serious, but we discussed price. In the end, he agreed to take it in for a MD state inspection (which is very meticulous), and we'll discuss final pricing after I see the inspection sheet.

TL;DR I like this one, but we're negotiating price over a few minor issues.

Exactly. No sway bars, no track bars, no bull****. Leaf springs, shocks, and steering.

They ride and perform better without trackbars. There isn't any reason to keep them on there. As for sway bars, I've read that they don't make a difference on the road on YJs. I'm gonna pull them when I get one and see how I like it.

You'll be fine without the sway bars. Damiens doesnt have it. Should come down here sometime and i'm sure he'll let ya ride in it

Leafs can be extremely flexy when properly configured. My MJ's *** end had more than double the flex of my front, thanks to the long leafs. If I get this YJ, I may replace the ~4" lift with 2.5" OME springs and an SOA conversion. Flat leafs droop better than heavily arched ones.

At this rate, I may own one before if have a chance to head out that way lol

And then you're at what? 7" of lift? 2" springs and 5" SOA?

Then steering and stability on road don't play in your favor.

I know leafs can be flexy, longer ones like the MJ for sure.

I would just stick at 4" lift with 33s on the YJ. It's a decent setup. But like you said with droop might be worth using stock springs or something with SOA cause that will give you the lift you probably want.
