Too late. It started again a few days ago. It's only occasional, usually when decelerating slowly through low RPMs. Sometimes a small pop when I downshift. I'm hitting operating temp now, so my next goal is the new downpipe. I know I have a leak where it meets the manifold, so I'm hoping that'll help.

On a productive note, my89xj helped me install my new factory downpipe. When I say "helped me," I mean I handed him tools and he did the work lol
She sounds a whole lot better and doesn't feel bogged down in acceleration. Turns out my driveshaft hitting the old downpipe wasn't just making noise; it was eating its way through the pipe.

Got tired of wanting hood vents. Grabbed my tin snips, mallet, and primer. Free vent.
I cut out the rubber seal and folded down the drip rail about 6" from the fender to almost the center. This protects the ground, electrical, and vacuum on the fender, and it keeps water far away from the C101. Also, if I have a catastrophic failure, smoke will come out the passenger side more than if I'd removed the entire drip rail.
