So i have owned my XJ now since March of this year and I finally decide to create myself a build thread. Since i have had it for awhile now I will just start with the where i started and the few things i have done with it so far. Also this is the first jeep I have owned also first of vehicle of anytype.
I picked it up $1700 and it was in good condition 140k miles on the odometer. The only problems it has are the gears in the front were shot and something in the rear makes a loud noise (I'm not sure how to describe it) only when coasting above 30 mph and the passenger side was backed into by a RV so the front fender and door are crush fairly bad.
Pic of the jeep the day i bought right after i got home. 100% stock

after having it for a few months I wanted to lifted it so i ordered a 3 inch lift from rough country. new tires and wheels.
Pic right after the lift.

It stayed like this up until November when i decided to tackle the destroyed gears in the front axle so i picked up a d30 for $75 from a 88 xj that i found on craigslist and swapped it in. also I learned that all of the brake parts were incompatible between the 2 model years so it had to sit on jack stands as i waited for the new rotors and calipers.
and this is how it sits now.
