Been a while since I've updated this thread or done any work to this XJ. I've wheeled her plenty cause my '99 is under construction. She's been a trooper so far and is still running like a top.
Ended up getting a deal on a nice bumper from a forum member. It's a cut n fold so took care of that yesterday.

The bumper is gonna have to wait till I get bolts that fit the nutstrips that are on it, the hardware that came with the bumper didn't work for it. I also may just say to hell with it and weld the mounts to the framerails

Ran into some issues with the mounting hardware and realized that I have to install my shackle relocation brackets and gas tank skid before I put the bumper on, as it only mounts to the framerails

Dirtbound Offroad.
Got around to installing the bumper today and finishing up sealing and painting the cut n fold and I got the HD Offroad shackle relocation brackets, which actually netted me around 2" of lift with the stock shackles!

Before and after the relocation brackets
Before

After

The other side

The bumper brackets were a bit of a PITA, little more cutting

It was all worth it though. Great looking bumper, can't wait to mount up some 3.5" lights in it now.

Also ordered new RE 3.5" leaf packs and IronMan 4x4 Fab adjustable shackles. Looking to net around 5.5"-6" total
Also ordered something else for her that's a secret atm

you basically cut off the bottom, and cut a triangle out of the back (leaving about 3/4" for fold-able tabs), then do similar cuts in the front. After that you just fold everything up.
I threw some silicone between the layers and pop riveted it up in place, then took the trim panels off and seam sealed the gaps from the inside.
