I still need to cut out the passenger side and get a patch welded on, but for now I applied a rust reformer and primer on the rest to protect the bare metal.
Also started pulling the headliner to install rear shoulder belts. Turns out I don't have the upper mounts. Going to order some mounting brackets to install.

Not many xj in the yards around here with rear seat belts. But I'm going to go and check some out this week.
I'm sort of working between a couple areas in the Jeep right now.
Started cutting out the passenger cargo floor area. Peeled back the glued on carpet from the wheel well and found more cancer covered by some sort of patching tape. Yeah!
It looks really odd. I'm assuming body damage caused the zig zag look? Thoughts.
Anyone know where I can buy the inner wheel well as a replacement piece. Otherwise I'll have to cut and patch.

I know I will regret it.
I redid the headliner in my Comanche and it didn't turn out well and that's half the size.
Also I don't know what color I would do. Should I leave it black or match the burgundy interior. Or maybe go plaid!

I paid to have mine done. I just did not have the confidence that I would have done a good job and that it would not be falling down in places within the year.
I figured it would cost me $60 to do it. Couple cans of the good 3M glue and the material.
Easier to pay $125 and have it done right.
My time ain't worth squat (LOL) so I never figure that in when calculating things like this.
That's not a bad price to have it done. Maybe I'll look into that. Did you just go to an upholstery shop?
In my area there is the go to guy that all the classic car owners use for any kind of upholstery, headliner, convertible top, etc, work.
He charged me that with me taking it out of the Jeep and dropping it off to him.
He is a customer of the auto parts store I work at so assuming I got a bit of a break cause of that.
Crazy busy summer at work. Working 6 or 7 days a week.
I did manage to get it running better. Replaced the battery which was less than a year old and had to be jumped everytime I need to start it. That's seems to have made a big difference.
Also installed a renix engine monitor. Still trying to figure out all the numbers.
Today I finally started patching the rear cargo floor. It's not finished our welded yet. Just working on fitment.
Keep in mind this is a winter beater for me and I've never done metal work on a vehicle. The carpet will cover it up anyway.
