Project Utility Vehicle: Take II
Nice rig, and it's ok if you cant do ALL the work yourself, you tried right? Thats all that matters.
I especially like the sticker on the back passanger glass; I can see what it is from the pic. Got one on my rear window

I just bought the paint at NAPA auto parts, the one by me has a whole automotive painting department and they helped me get everything together. It wasnt too hard to do its just very time consuming doing all the prep.
As for thew locker, it makes a huge difference, especially on rocks, I can keep driving right up until wheels start lifting off the ground. It's not too bad on the road either, I drive my Jeep every day and I hardly feel it there anymore.
Also another modification I was planning on was swapping out the stock automatic transmission for a standard NV3550, but I dont really know exactly whats involved and cant find any good source of information about it. Has anyone ever heard of anyone trying this, even on a different vehicle?

Try logging on to JPmagazine.com, or getting a subscription. Runs about $18 a year. They are strictly jeep info and can tell you what it will take to swap in that new tranny. You may be able to search the archives on line to see what they say about the swap.
Keep on wheelin and never stop dreamin on upgrades.

I got it in the mail, put it on and hated it, it reduced my departure angle by a bunch and looked bloated. Also, the rear hatch wont close if its a 1997+ XJ. I decided to send it back and just ordered the JCR stage three bumper the other day.

The pant is the regular automotive Napa brand paint, it's sand color with flattener in it. And I went to Farnsworth Middle School, you?
I wish I had a real garage all year, my dad owns a carpet cleaning company and they park their vans in the garage so they dont freeze, so I dont have a garage in the winter, sucks cause its the only time you need one.

The paint wasnt too expensive really, for everything I needed (like flattener, hardener paint and enamel) ran me about $200 dollars. You could do it a little cheaper with spray paint but it wont hold up nearly as well, the paint I have on there now, when I backed into a tree and pushed my stock rear bumper way in you still couldn't see blue through the paint, didn't even chip it.

Ok, have'nt posted any pics in a while and I just got that damned camera working again, so here is a few of some of my new parts ready to get slapped on.
Nitro HP D30 4.88 Gears (bought used but only 5kmi on them for $75)

Tomken Gas Tank Skid, waiting to get my JCR tire carrier bumper before I put this on so I can I dont have to take it back off again. Should have that sometime next week.

My Kevins Offroad rock rails, when they came to the door my Aunt thought they were bumpers. I think i'm gonna try bedlining these, should hold up better than paint.

I'll have some pics of me in the garage next week, just though I should post some pictures up.
